Join our call for Self-Care. A call to encourage nurses to always remember that self-care isn't selfish. It is healthcare and it is essential. It is recognizing our own worth and prioritizing our own needs. We can't give from an empty cup. We should be reminded that we are human, vulnerable to the same limitations as those we care for. Self-care means setting boundaries, prioritizing rest (Yes nurses, that means saying NO to that extra shift!) and seeking support or asking for help on the unit when needed. It's about acknowledging our own humanity and treating ourselves with the same compassion we so freely give others.
